The Good Fight! Poem by Tonya June

The Good Fight!

Rating: 4.5

Blood, Sweat And Tears-
I Gave All These Years-
Up, Down And All Around-
Feeling Like I'm No Where Bound-
I Didn't Have A Choice-
Couldn't Realize My Dreams -
I was Left Without A Voice-
I COULD HAVE BEEN GREAT-
A Goddess, A Princess, A Queen In My Own Right-
But I Was Too Busy Raising Babies,
Tucking Them In At Night-
Who Was I In My Youth? ?
How Could I Forget? ?
It's Been So Long-
Please Don't Get Me Wrong,
I Have No Regret-
I Wouldn't Change A Thing,
As Far As My Babies Are Concerned-
I Did The Best With What I Had-
So Many Things They Have Taught Me, I've Learned-
But Now Is It's Time To Reclaim All Of Those Years-
To Rise Above It All And Believe In Me,
Release Those Fears-
The Part Of Me That Has Been Denied For So Long-
That Part Of Me Yearns To Be Alive, To Sing It's Song-
A GODDESS, A PRINCESS, A QUEEN IN MY OWN RIGHT-
I Still Have Many Years Left In Me-
I'm Gonna Give It A Good Fight..
