The Decline Poem by Genevieve Surrender

The Decline

Rating: 4.8

I've reached the point,
in this series of
unnecessarilly dramatic events
that I call my life,
where it all stops.

I've reached the point
where apathy caters for allure
and the eye of the storm
has stopped circling above
and is only watching.

I've reached the point
where love does not justify
where happiness
finds a clearing
that the storm has created.

I've reached the point
where all the seas
are calm
and the ship has stopped rocking
just long enough for me
to follow the tranquility
forever.
