Shadows Poem by Les Derbyshire

Shadows

Rating: 5.0

Today I open my eyes
To the first day
That will not have you
To give it life.
I look across my pillow
At the empty shape of you,
At my room, grey with shadows of you.
The silence of your voice
Rings in my ears.
This body that only yesterday
Thrilled to your caress
Today feels nothing
But the icy touch of pain.
This heart that late was filled with you
Now bears the empty imprint of your love.

I like this alot Les you capture the weight of your loss, so tenderly and elegantly, ver nicely done, top marks.
