Riff Poem by Susan Lacovara

Riff

Once I was the pillow
Upon which your head fell
Heavy and happily
At day's demise
Back when we had dreams
To tangle and twirl
In our mingling fingers

The widening riff
So vast now I fear
It will swallow me while
No one will ever know
I was here....
Not even you.
