Revolve Poem by Nestor David Armas

Revolve

I put you on a pedestal;
Not because you are unattainable;
Or because you are in a class all your own,
I do this because I want you to be special;
In my eyes alone you are a princess,
In my heart alone you are a queen;
Others may have just taken from you;
What they wanted without a second thought,
But I'm not here to judge your past;
I'm giving you what you don't know you want,
Everything and anything without a condition;
Because I can; because I am a bigger man,
Than they who thought themselves so suave;
Smooth talkers; auctioneers;
Convincing and relentless; made you break
Your promise you would never give in,
But we're all human and I'm no better
But to say I've never thought to do the deed
Without remorse; but I'm a thinker and a planner;
Regardless of how I can be spontaneous and surprising;
A contradiction; not a fact just like stories fiction;
This is me one in the midst of a billion;
I want you to be just the same,
Give you the benefit of the doubt,
That you deserve better than to be a stereotype;
Been told that you are something just like any other,
But I'm giving you a chance; take my offer;
I put you on a pedestal; I'm asking you to play the queen;
That you can be, because I can be a king amongst knights,
Give you all with heart in hand because I trust;
I can see your true direction; you can be so much more;
Than the world sees; you are my stars; my sunrise,
To me, my world; let us revolve around one another...

ah but be careful of the pedestal, for it can be a long fall down.
