Pool Party Poem by Elliott Rosenberg

Pool Party

I see my sons myriad smiles hazing the waters edge.
Their grace endure the rifts of
youth bestowed upon their shoulders.

Immersed together a murder of crows make waves that call to Jonas,
waddling about their daily nuisance in accordance with creation.

Then the leviathan spoke to the gam of whales hording towards the horizon.
Arise your spouts!
Spew our prophet!
For the children of Gilgamesh await.

At Askim shore you beached the covenant gifted to man today,
without regard to the spawning grounds so many miles away.

Fill your belly haste and merry,
Dance with joy your days.
Embrace your wife,
Hold her child,
Who's hands give warmth today.

Bathe thy thoughts and heart the same,
encumbered as may be,
lead adrift the calling seas,
That fall from heaven yonder.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This evening I went swimming. The pool was filled with fifty kids froliccing around in unison. With beach balls at hand they valiantly choose their vice, engaging each other as Nutcracker toy soldiers to the army of mice.
Suddenly the water stood still, blue and wanting play yearning a childs touch.
Along came Clara precariously rippling the waters surface with tender motions that made her cry in pain.
Then a hand protruded before her eyes with ring and love the same.
I dedicate this poem to all men who faithfully believe that their prince shall rise again.
And so I wrote November 3rd,2013 at the Americinn motel in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
