Over And Over Poem by Naveed Akram

Over And Over

I want to state my name
Over and over again,

Over and over
And once again.

And so in phrases of the deep
My ink runs, money swimming in rivers
So selfish am I.

I want your strength, I want your sanity
To increase, little by little, as at last it will.

Unless you forbid the youth of your soul
To flower and blossom, then this rose of mine
Keeps shining like a light in unison.

The ink is kept up to the sky, like a proud
Walk, and a proud stare, the ink is beheld
By all to see.

Over and over again,
The young will write to me
And sell their kidneys,
And sell their hearts with them too.
