Numb Poem by victoria martinez

Numb

Rating: 0.5

A bullet proof world, that’s what I’m in
Look around, they are all shooting
I’m shooting up, avoid the pain; numb
.
A lazy world, that’s what I’ve given into
Lay around, they wait for me to serve them
I’m shooting up, avoid the stress; numb
.
Pointless because they cant give me a reason
Shelter this, cover me up; lies
And thoughts afloat; numb
.
Walk outside, breathe in; air
Sucking the pride out of me
An evolution of a race
A revolution of a deferred pain; numb
.
Bullet proof glass, that’s what separates us
Miles of desert that’s what separates us
Miles of actions that’s what separates us
Which will protect me more?
.
And it’s building up
I feel the shame; voices screaming so loud
It’s in my head
Doctor; “you are insane”
.
I’ve been shooting up; numb
I’ve been giving up to feel numb
I’ve have no option my mind has withered
.
Oh sweet bliss, kiss my bloody lips with the crystal tears falling down the face of a new solution.
Save my bullet proof world, I’m about to bomb it
And the voices they get louder, screaming my name
I’m shooting up to block them out
But, they yell either way
I am numb and bound
