Nightmare Poem by Eden Sheffroth

Nightmare

Is there anybody out there?
Am I destined to live this life alone?
To always feel pain to always suffer?
To relive the sin to constantly atone?

Can anybody hear me?
Can you see me behind this twisted glass?
Am I destined for this misery?
Forced to rewind and play back my past?

Is this the way I will live out my life?
Secluded, shapeless in a dark room full of fear?
Does anybody respond to my screams or see my strife?
Can anybody hear?

Are you going to walk away?
As I lay on this cold, damp floor?
Can you see me standing? Do you feel me sway?
Do you hear my heart beating? I am dying OPEN THE DOOR!

What else can I expect?
I'm just a lonely voice drowned out by a sea of tortured song
I'm just a lily among the roses, the thorns rip and demand my respect
Can anyone see me among the crowd? Where have you gone?

Will anyone read this?
Or is this a waste for the fingers?
A small defeat for these mishappen digits
Will anybody linger?
