Monolith Poem by Robert Miller

Monolith

Rating: 5.0

i stand at the crag
looking down at the abyss
because i hate myself
inside i find no peace
i just wish it would be over
Then i'd find my calm, maybe
but here, there is just one
that has faith in me
and who backs me up
you are a monolith for me.

the gale grows stronger in me
i can hear it, it crawls inside
its senseless, just stop the storm
before my hopes and solicitudes collide
in this maelstrom that keeps growing harder
you need to breed the creed
in me to go on and stop the tempest
when you don't help and take the lead
i won't be able to keep my feet
you are the monolith i need.

day x, all hell breaks loose
it seems this fight is forlorn
the waves clash over me
my soul is ripped and torn
the disaster is on its way
i am helpless, have to flee
onto this island in my soul
where i await the apocalypse of me
due to the vortex you impede
you one and only monolith for me.
