Mirror Me Poem by Houston Needham

Mirror Me

The glass on your bathroom wall
Tells you whether your hair needs a fix.
The reflection on your backyard pond
Tells you what your face looks like.
Mirrors never tell
Whats on the inside.
They cannot reflect
The true colors you shine.
The reflections only know
What the surface whispers.
The mirror never knows
The flame inside that flickers.
Between the lines,
The silent cries,
The unseen eyes,
Never believe
What the mirror lies.
