Miles Apart Poem by asma bahrainwala

Miles Apart

Rating: 4.7

The distance between
You and Me—
An ever-widening gulf
It seems.

Let us bridge this gap
With our love,
Before it turns into
A bottomless abyss.

My thoughts always drift
Only in your direction;
And when you reciprocate, my love,
You keep the wheels in motion.

Funny to me sometimes it seems—
This distance yet this attraction;
Signals, Telepathy, Intuition—
What a strange connection!

But I dream, I wish, I pray, I hope—
That everlasting shall be this bond;
Even though we are miles apart,
This distance shall be no obstruction.
