Lovers Game Poem by Paola Elizabet Mateo

Lovers Game

You left the room after our fight
You left in such a rush through the night
I wanted to apologize to you
But you went looking for a taste of sweet honey dew
I went to find you in the darkness
And saw you, just wanting to expect less
You and her two lovers in a box of red roses
Seeing all of these strange poses
Two colors of soft skin rolling in sweet talcum
My heart breathing restlessly and numb
You both sang songs of lust
My glassy eyes began to fog in the sweaty must
Scratches covering your arms and back
I must admit it was a raving act
Your eyes closed as if you were asleep
Her eyes going back where no pupil could peep
My eyes sank in tears and pain
The door flinging open and gun shots down the lane...
