Lie Down Poem by J.M Berger

Lie Down

The teenage scarecrows pull their jeans on
Their palms are wet from love
The night and the day, it’s all the same to them
It’s all the same to the eyes that watch
Look up there
I think Io is a moon of Jupiter
And Jupiter is a big ball of gas
It swirls around with the colors, shades of grey
It’s a damp gas
But it’s lovely
Maybe if you get out of here for a little bit
You’ll feel better
We scarecrows will help you feel better
