Josie Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Josie

Josie

Josie is the saleswoman in the Gap.
Her roots and origin, Asian.

Racks and racks, shelves and shelves
Shirts, and pants, and jackets.

“Hey…” dies in my throat; I can’t talk.
I intend, to speak: “leech, blood.”

“You buy cheap and they reap
The poor-man’s workmanship.”

“Bengalis, Indians and deprived
Are abused, underpaid, in their lives.”

“The brand uses you has a large slogan
On your chest, or belly or your butts.”

Word-bubbles hit the lid in my mind.
I blow like a bomb, and…all dies.
