In My Place Poem by Cynthia Cyanide

In My Place

Rating: 5.0

The sunsets over the hills
And we sit here still together,
A gentle smile across your face
Is promising forever,

A soft breeze tickles me so
And you notice I am cold,
You hand me your warm jacket
That random act was bold,

I blush slightly hoping
You wouldn’t notice my red cheeks,
But you do and smile bigger
And oh! How that makes me weak,

It’s starting to get dark now
And we’re still sitting on this hill,
We sit closer to each other
For there is a fearful chill,

Watching the stars start to sparkle
You pull me closer to you,
I’m enjoying this night so well
I wish it wasn’t through,

The moon begins to shine
And I can still see your face,
I’m so glad I’m here
I’m so glad I’m in my place.
