I Ran Poem by Cathryn Adeli

I Ran

again the wrens and robins came
in spring a blue bird or two
pigeons dropped on the statue's name
seagulls soared in skies of blue.
bees buzzed, ants scouted
all the seed sprouted.
vines twined, grain swayed
fruit and flower were displayed
and doves flew in skies of blue
yet, underground were rumbles and tumbles
that erupted in deafening deadening sound
mice, rats snakes crept all around
robins and wrens marched in the prints of feet
of pigeons seen parading in the street
music became chants and twitter
art was crude and bitter
and hawks were seen in skies of blue
when is the end the means justify
what and how many must die
slaves' matrys to whats right
with the power of the might
of the vultures that circle in the skies
