I Miss You Poem by Beccy Mawson

I Miss You

I'm still thinking of you down here
I'm waiting to hear you in my ear

I'm waiting for a familiar sound
But when I listen, there's no one around
No sound but my own footsteps on the ground
Waiting for that familiar sound

I need to hear something, see something, any thing
I just need to know you're still here
Always around to lend an ear.

I miss your smile
I miss your jokes
I miss the wise cracks
I think of your folks

I think and think
And try to imagine
The pain that they feel
But no matter how hard I try
I just can't seem to see the reason why

I can't see why God took you
I don't see why
I can't see why God left me
I don't see why

If I could change time then I would
But now all I see is pure fresh blood

When I think of you I get a shiver
So I know that your still near
Now I'm asking for you to send
A unique little sign that'll last for the end.
