How Long? Poem by Rosa Mayfair

How Long?

Rating: 3.5

How long has it been since we met
I cant remember where or when
All I can recall is that you looked so tall
And the wind was blowing through your chestnut coloured hair

How long has it been since we met
Maybe it was two hundred years ago
Perhaps at a dance or on the streets of France
As we went looking for Verlaine and Rimbaud

And where are you now my one true love
In what country and what state are you living
I know we'll meet again, but as for when
I guess thats for fate to be deciding

Dear Rosa, I concur with Ben; it's not that strong an effort but perhaps a work in progress akin to my 'Reminiscence' which I have amended twice today; once to better the title, the other to change the conclusion altogether. Then there's always the chance of combining poem elements. I've been known to patch up to four poems together to achieve one truly fine poem instead of four near misses. Gregoryx

another poem that u could work on and expand (if u wanted of course) . I like that idea of meeting your Love 200 years ago..or whatever. Implies to me that we maybe meet that 1 special person...once in eternity... and never stop being in love. NOt a bad idea 4 a poem... wish i'd thought of it. from a picky point of view (in my opinion of course) ... are you really happy with... ' And the wind was blowing through your chestnut coloured hair '?
