Hollywood Poem by Robert Siney

Hollywood

Rating: 5.0

The silent beauty of the stars,
Their fame goes unspoken,
But always a ceaseless respect,
Iconic is an ironic guarantee.

A smile in the dark is still a smile,
Your shadow is your mask now.
Reflection and glory intertwined,
The moon as cathartic as it is futile.

Peace provides no solace,
As ever, this silence is deafening.
Red and yellow quickly pass by,
Always overwhelmed by the gloom.

I’ve sympathy for my soul,
But not for myself;
Rock bottom has never been so high.

The rain is with me tonight,
So a downpour is inevitable.
Let’s go back to Hollywood.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Autumn leaves fall as you retreat to the black and white magic of Hollywood in the wee small hours. There's something about a romantic story with a happily ever after ending that soothes the troubled soul. This is the best of yours I've read so far. In particular, I like: 'Rock bottom has never been so high.' Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
