Heaven’s Waiting Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Heaven’s Waiting

While Heaven calls to come inside
The Father’s sheep astray
The jaws of hell are gaping wide
And lions prowl for prey

We’ve all a choice to life or death
To Jesus’ arms or fire
There’s freedom till our final breath
To choose our heart’s desire

While most of us walk selfish ways
Living a life of shame
A few to Heaven fix their gaze
And call on Jesus’ name

Obscurity demands its fill
And disobedience thrives
Still few seek out The Father’s will
To save their precious lives

God loves us all and hates to see
The death of but one child
And wants us live He wants us be
Through Jesus reconciled

Our time to change is at its height
To know and feel God’s love
His Light has come to end the night
As promised from above

Best not to knock the devil’s door
Or if he knocks on yours
Be not to God a shameful whore
Gathering stinking sores

Take good advice let wisdom rule
Allow God’s Light to reign
Refuse to be the devil’s tool
Don’t play his fool again
