Haunted Heart
In the ice-cold stone of your guarded heart
Lies a piece of me,
Caught up in barbs.
A piece that beats with forgotten cost-
An unspoken reminder of the love you lost.
It whispers to you both night and day,
Echoing with the tears I often cry....
'Ohhhh please set your haunted heart free.
Take it all...
And not just a piece of me.'
Hi Lesa, It sound like you were in love. I think for me I fell out of love years ago. I really can't say. I can't even write poetry lately. I find it hard to come on the site. I am just losing interest in everything. Take care Excellent poem.
