Guilty Conscience Poem by alicia cross

Guilty Conscience

There's a spirit buried far within;
Whispering disastrous thoughts to the vulnerable ear.
Maneuvering through the amateur's mind;
All good is destroyed inside.
No apparent guilt after taking these souls;
A glimmering light still upholds.
Creating a revolution against the tyrant;
The halo strives to gain control.
Over coming the darkness once again;
Though the vessel restored its balance, it didn't cover its scars.
