Good Intentions Poem by Christopher G. Turner

Good Intentions

A man set out to dig
A Texas Star tree
from his back yard
Time continued to pass

A shovel was placed
in the ground near
the chosen tree
Time continued to pass

Not a stir was seen
from shovel nor man
The tree long forgotten
Time continued to pass

A man with good intentions
is like a man forgetting
his wife's own birthday
Time continued to pass
