Glitter Poem by Maynard Hartman

Glitter

I almost hid the music,
from my friends.
What did they know;
their metal was heavy

And I remember Betty,
she stood on a table,
grinding to Free Bird,
while I thought about
Glitter.

When it's time to break out,
when you've stayed too long
Find a road. Walk along.
There's a gutter not far,
all strewn with litter.
You can visit...Not Stay,
in this world of
Glitter.
