Glimpse Poem by D A Phinney

Glimpse

Between the kisses
Between the whispers
Something fell open
Like a dropped diary
Like a towel that slipped
Or a light snapped importunely
And there you were
For just a glimpse
Wide-eyed
Your hidden naked
All exposed
Your fear that I'd behold
Your fear
And see the dead bones
Amid the tarnished coins
But I saw spingtime
Kneeling near the waterfall
In the spray of sunbeams
Wearing rainbows
Soft green tendrils in your hands
And diadems
Diadems
Diadems in your hair
