Foxy Lady Poem by Dennis Lambert

Foxy Lady

Rating: 4.0

Smart and foxy lady,
We run together today,
And the thicket of love is sharp,
For me and you of tender heart,
And the pangs of love abound,
And will circle us around.
For those distant sounds,
Are the bounding hounds,
That chase our dash and leap,
Even through the rivers deep.
They are the wounds that run with love,
Ancient as the sun above,
And there is not a moment to embrace,
To kiss the tears upon your face.
Before life's movement, tragic and sweet,
Brings us again to our feet.
And, your heart I would protect from every wound
Were I not searching too for the hidden ground
