Everlasting Love Poem by Donna McCord

Everlasting Love

A longing to be near him and the dawn of another day
Awakens passion with a touch; we meet each other halfway.

Love surrounds us cloaked in sheets, as we ride the tide of blue.
Each thrust of his I rise to meet and whisper I love you.

If looked upon we would appear to be one within the covers.
Our bodies melt as we collide and are blended one to the other.

The passion spent we do not move, we bask in the after glow.
So much is said without a word, we’re warm from head to toe.

This man I’ve loved for thirty years made all my dreams come true.
We’ve lived thru laughter, pain and tears and our love still shines through.

When death claims one or both of us, even then our love won’t cease.
A love like ours will not be hushed; it will last an eternity.
