Emily Poem by Jessica Beal

Emily

Here I am,
Age fourteen.
Why, oh, why,
Did this happen to me?
Here I am,
Age fourteen,
Single and broken,
With no one to care for me.
Here I am,
Age fourteen.
With my stomach getting bigger,
For everyone to see.
Here I am,
Age fourteen.
With people staring and pointing,
And being hateful to me.
Here I am,
Age fourteen.
With doctors and nurses,
Coming all around me.
Here I am,
Age fourteen,
With six pounds, nine ounces,
Looking up at me.
Here I am,
Age fourteen,
With a daughter I love,
I named Emily.
