Disposable Heroes Poem by Adam IceCommando

Disposable Heroes

Wars' dusts cleared away, one by one
Forgotten hero strays alone, under the sun
Hands so cold, with a question in mind… why?
Wise men wonder while strong men die?

Alone he is left, alone he is back
Spared from the end, all heroes had
His endless fight, his monstrous clash
Proved worthless, all dumped him down to the trash!

Is this the world you and i…
Dream of, and will for it die?

His friend and family, dead and dry
In this world of make-believe, he sits and cries
World so cold! Why staying alive?
Do me a favor and kill! One last time! !

Alone he is left, alone he is back
Spared from the end, all heroes had
His endless fight, his monstrous clash
Proved worthless, all dumped him down to the trash!

Is this the world you and i…
Dream of, and will for it die?

Why didn't I die?
Back there with honor and pride
Here I lie…
A disposable hero with no life
Survived the machine guns hits
To die here, by my own bullet.

Mankind always manages to find something to fight about - seems he will never learn. Excellent write.
