Disconnected Poem by j.c. monterrosa

Disconnected

Spoken like a silent prayer,
your eyes call me to you;
silver tongued, we justify
with broken words and broken truths,
hungry arms embracing one another.
Glimpsing lust,
we feel it burning,
deep within us,
like a poison,
taking life from our desires.
The sin to be that blurs this moment
stops our thinking;
right or wrong no longer matters
'cause every time we come together
we're really
disconnected.
