Dad Poem by Tracey Collins

Dad

Rating: 5.0

I lost my dad in 2001
God said it was his time
he was sitting down
drinking his lemon lime.
He liked to watch hockey
and pretended to be Rockey
he was playing with the ladle
sitting at the table.
Then all at once
he fell to the floor
my sister-in-law heard the
thump from her bedroom door.
That`s when dad died
of a heart attack
now he lives in my heart
his Love I`ll never forget.

Nice poem. Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately we cannot but have life without death. One cannot exhist but without the other, sadly to say.Our loved ones will have to live their final one day. Your father now resides up in Heaven above... By you he'll be remembered and loved. It's lovely you've remembered him in a poem-that shows you loved him. We should all respect and love our fathers. This is a lovely poem to his memory. I believe that there is no e in 'Rocky' the movie, as in your poem. God bless and best regards-Mike Gale.

A hard moment to share. It has been 13 years since mine passed from a heartattack and I still miss him so. Tracey this felt from the heart. Patricia Gale

Thanks for your comments Tracey. Sorry for your loss. Our fathers will always be in our hearts. I still get emotional over my dad now and again after 12 years but I am happy with my family and have some good memories of him. God bless.
