Cruel One Poem by Marilyn Colyer

Cruel One

Her cruel words bite like a chilly winters wind
Her stare as harsh as a gravel road
That one person you think you can rely on
She lets you down ever so
Her mind as foggy as the sea air in a storm
Her thoughts as confusing as my own
I take a step forward only finding myself further away
Her face I start to forget, a memory gone
The pain all too easy to remember
The harsh realisation that you are alone
The fear sets in and you can’t bare it anymore
You fall and hit the ground hard
Your knees red with blood
Your eyes wet with tears

A lovely, masterful poem. Really great word choice and rhythm. One of the better poems I've read today... I liked this poem, please read some of mine!
