Colorblind Poem by Ted Sheridan

Colorblind

Rating: 4.4

It’s not as if I didn’t know
when I pulled into that dark parking lot
in the 2800 block of South Avenue
that the little black a*s teenage prick
with the 24 carat golden grill in his mouth
and his NY Yankees ball cap
pulled down around his diamond studded ears….
had a gun; of course I knew
he was packing heat and would bring it
if provoked … but I’m not even some dumb fuk
Caucasian yuppie with the keys to a new BMW
who just happened to have wandered
into the wrong neighborhood
trying to score his favorite rock candy….
No….I’m not even a stupid honky metrosexual
with an I Pod plugged into my tiny brain….
What I am is ……a dead mutherfuker….

Dead? Not. What you are is aware. Anyway who is aware is not dead. Keep that straight. By the way...excellent write. ~ Sara

How is it that this poem got so many hits and votes but nobody leaves a comment? What does that say? I'm not trying to imply......
