Cockroaches Poem by azmat naushad asif

Tough, dark and loathsome
omnipresent, ever present, ever lasting
it's been made invincible
that's why it does not let go easily

In dark
when i turn on the lights
i see it swarming on the floor
readily hurrying to hide
everywhere
sometimes it sits on the door knobs
obstructing me to open them
and let in the oppurtunities


At daytime it disappears
nowhere in sight
swaying its whiskered antennae
with penetrating gaze
it creeps up at night
to crawl up between my legs
Pest
I regret to have you in my life
