Broken Promises Poem by Ruth warren

Broken Promises

You broke another promise to me,
how many does that make this week;
yet you also hurt me deep inside,
and I cried until I fell asleep.

I tried to explain the pain you inflict,
upon me everyday;
do you not hear me, are you not
listening, to a single word that I say?

You just don't understand, what you are
doing to me;
with your' jealousy, unfaithfulness,
your' lies and dishonesty.

You always say the same thing, each
time that you betray me;
'I'm sorry, I'll never do it again,
for I love you, can't you see'?

How many times I've heard these words,
I lost count a long time ago;
but I'd rather be dead then to live
like this, so I'm begging you, 'Please
let me go'. so that i can be free
