Boys To Men Poem by OLABANJI ABIMBOLAMCGREGOR

Boys To Men

I could not wait to be that age,
I was years ahead of my mate,
A few years...a good job; then marriage,
It might not be easy i thought, but i'll manage.

I had an idea of my dream family,
My wife and i with distinct qualities,
Few kids i'll have though, but spoil them silly,
Take trips with them to world's largest cities.

Now i am that age and so confused,
The pill that turns back time i'm ready to use,
To be a kid once again and never grow old,
Now my story is the worst that's ever been told.
'Cause in my dreams i've laid up treasure in gold,
It will be well; i'm only paying my dues.
