here I am again
as if I'd never gone
each memory clear
as yesterdays

you lay beside me
likening patience
listening to every tale
I have to tell

yet all my words
likening nothing
but a dream

it seems I am awakening
finding I was here
all along

I like this very much, TIR. Short and to the point, without a lot of dribble. Not sure about the use of 'liken', though. Overall, a good read.
