nothing else matters because I know you’re mine

no one else captures this picky love of mine…



the sun may fail to shine, stay hiding behind the clouds

my smile shall never wither because I know you’re mine…



the rain could keep on pouring, the shadows may grow long

my spirit can’t be dampened simply ‘cause I know you’re mine



the coffee can go cold, my toast be burned and charred

because you’re mine, none of these matter, I won’t give it no mind



no fear can ever frighten, no darkness can survive

“because you’re mine” is enough to brighten a sullen, pallid sky



the days can go all wrong, be some hurdle to reckon

my strength can never falter simply ‘cause I know you’re mine



tomorrow can go wandering, and be late for a day or two

I wouldn’t care to wonder for I know I do have you
