Angelina Poem by Louis Robert Samuels

Angelina

Ah, were that I be saint of beast,
I will love thee always,
E'er my life be ceased
Kiss me tenderly, and I shall drink
As of the wine of angels,
Guide me to the depths of thy heart,
And I shall know as of the ways of heaven,
Embrace me, that I might feel the warmth of thy being,
Comfort me, as the leaf, in the bosom of the tree,
Love me as I love thee,
This, be I confess my love eternal.
