Andy Warhol Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol

Went to TIFF for Warhol
Watched some films; and listened.

But in mind magic of Solomon…

“The best of leather wear…”
I was told by Roman; explained:
“come from the deer; hungry animals…”

Kept head low and listened; on body had goosebumps.
Felt ashamed, dwindled between worlds
The Chaco on one side, on other Sahara,
Back, front were their likes and cities were stars in sky
sparkled planets, Moulin Rouge
in London and Paris, New York; and of course Tokyo.

“Some dying of hunger…not eating;
some die of too much joy, drinking.”

What the “F” is this world
Any God; or justice
Where is knife; sword, dagger?
Want to kill, make rivers,
love to have a red world, bloodshed
Want to make everything soft, flat
as if sea and ocean, horizon, or desert
want to be new God with justice top of list
all of us equal…

Then will shout:
“F old world, boundaries and genders and races; labourers and the boss.”
