A Sign From God Poem by Ryan Waldron

A Sign From God

Rating: 5.0

Alone he stands at the edge of the world
watching as the life he knew unfurl
his past and future became the present
and his soul set about its ascent

now he finds the pearly gates
in front of heaven he eagerly waits
a voice within calls his name, it sounds rather odd
'sit down beside me for I am God'

he takes a seat and bows his head
asking God 'am I dead? '
There is no response, only a smile
then God says 'son its been a while'

'Listen close and hear me out
to reach you I've had to shout
open your heart and close your eyes
for your heart will not tell you lies

Trust in me and let me in
so I can show you the right path again'
The man replies with a simple sigh
as God bids him good bye

He wakes from his slumber to the sound of thunder
crawling out of his tent he begins to wonder
'was that real or was it fake? '
as the moon cast light of a cross on the lake.
