A Moment Like This Poem by Tina Dang

A Moment Like This

Waiting in silence for my very first kiss.
Worried myself to the point, where I wonder what if I miss?
What will come of this?
Nothing but happy bliss?
How is it possible that I’ve let my guards down and walls crumble?
I must keep my composure, don’t fall too deep, after a first few tumble.
To me I try to bring loyalty and honesty, to some love is just a game.
Thus I must be upfront and not mislead anyone, knowing I’m not ready to tell them I feel the same.
Finding the “one” is difficult because that person only exist in our subconscious, fantasies and/or dreams.
But when you’ve found the “one, ” will you be able to love em with lack of confidence, also while running low on self-esteem?
I could tell you what I’m looking for but won’t know until I find it.
In the meanwhile, I don’t want to say meaningless things that turns out to be a load of bulls**t!
In a moment like this let’s just enjoy each other’s company, take it day by day, date by date.
I believe love shouldn’t be rushed in our lifetime because one day we’ll eventually stumble upon our soulmate(s) .

A Great title Tina! It drew me in and made me want to read it because it reminded me of a song...well part of a songs lyrics.Yes, soulmates are hard to find but they are worth looking for, waiting for and just dreaming about...they are out there! I wrote a poem called 'a soulmate' your poem made me think of it...both hold truth to the very thought of what soulmates mean to people. Great job on this one Tina...and I thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. I wish you all the best in life...and Love. =Shelley=
