1922 Poem by Gianni Vespucci

1922

The year is 1922, And all I want to do is party with you
Hollywood Boulevard, Let's go off somewhere far
Run off just to elope
'Cause we just don't want to go on alone
You've got the voice of an angel and beauty galore
Simply just who you are I vividly adore
You give me all your love but I still want more
With you I'll be forevermore
I want you to be my showgirl
You're what makes my whole world
You're a fine Carolina flapper
Dressed up looking dapper
How do I have her, Top covered in fuschia fur
Ooh baby doll, I want to give you my all
When I found you I took a hard fall
As if I ran into a brick wall
Girl you're the best around
Just sit back and lounge
While I serenade you with the most voluptuous sounds
Can't believe how, I'm your man now
When I don't deserve it at all
I'm not your usual type
Not sure exactly what you like
But you say I'm not the same
I don't know why, I am your guy
But you wouldn't mind sharing my name
Let's go to Hollywood Drive-In and go crazy
So I can make you feel like a lady
You claim you're less innocent
But these claims are in evanescence
I want to show you you're beauty
Because everyone else explains it loosely
This is their Roaring Twenties
But our Harlem Renaissance
Let's run off and get lost
I'll live to make you happy at all costs
