A Writers Emptiness

Once filled with inspiration this hand
Created works of beauty unparalleled
Arrogant in my own trade I
Was the self proclaimed emperor

The power akin to that of the almighty
Creation of entire universes a mere thought away
Nothing existed that could render my mind incapable
A heart stronger than diamond, one whom even the devil couldn't sway

Yet these memories are of the distant past
And my powers supreme now sealed
The hand of god now less than ordinary
And a mind emptied by satan

I try to fill these pages now
Once filled with my immense love
Once filled with my intense grief
Once filled with my overwhelming happiness
Now filled with solitude

Because my soul can no longer feel love
And my heart incapable of perceiving sorrow
Can only feel
The crushing sensation something vital is missing
Which once filled me entirely
