How Could It Have Rained?

It roared, it hummed, it stared the earth with red eyes
Like it could overwhelm everyone in rain
`Cause it was dark and black; `cause it was powerful
Everyone feared and everyone cried
It stood upon us like a big black bat finding prey
The crop was ripe and was to be cut
There- It snarled again.
The crop will be destroyed, people said
This rain will drain our food, people said
Bless us O lord, people said
And people said it should not rain
The lightning struck and roared the beast
Then something could be heard
Yes, something could be heard
Whisper of wind that came from the east
Eastern winds result in rain, people said
And all cried in despair- Oh God!
I felt the drops of rain falling on me.....
But, I found my brother had done it!
Oh! That was just a dream!
There was never any cloud!
How could it have rained?
