SHARON YAKOWA Poems

In this world of words
Woes, purpose yet so cold
In this world so empty
Yet of gold.
...

Love came to me some years ago
It wasn't sad, it wasn't lonely
I guess it was my ego,
It made me to big to notice.
...

Here we go again
Calling each other names
Acting insane
For what has been described as vain
...

Desire
The twinkling of stars on a balmy night
Are as passionate as the look of her lovely sight, dashing with fire
Leaving my heart with desire.
...

My father my teacher
A Christian by faith
whose ways were prudent and bright as day,
Never gave reason to hate yet you wonder day by day his ways.
...

Through you and with you
Dancing and laughing
...

Who Am I?

In this world of words
Woes, purpose yet so cold
In this world so empty
Yet of gold.

Who i am?
A soul defined
From that little small tribe
known as kagoma,
A place i reside.

I am a man, a son, a brother
A friend and soon to be a father,
I am a Christian and i serve my God well
Who am i?
Just read the lines again.

Presumption doesn’t take you far
It only makes you fat with pride
And with time treats you like a child.
Who am i?
Just call me the lover of your life.

Who am i?
Never lonely, always cheering soul
Loves poetry, music and food also.
Who am i?
I am that soul that refuses to get cold.
