Seth Hargett Poems

Boots hit the pavement like rain
Bullets fly and unleash pain
The whirring of helicopter blades
Gone, are the parades
...

Laid back but dying
To myself, I'm lying
It'll all be okay
It'll end one day

The Best Poem Of Seth Hargett

War Winds

Boots hit the pavement like rain
Bullets fly and unleash pain
The whirring of helicopter blades
Gone, are the parades
These city streets are ragged
Flying shrapnel that is jagged
No more laughing kids
The old men have placed their bids
How can you choose whats right and whats wrong
When everything is so far gone

There's blood on the horizon

Colossal war
What for?
Too many explosions for asking why
Just take a look outside
The world heats up and goes boom
Maybe linked to the oil we consume
The ground rumbles, tanks in formation
War leaves a breathtaking sensation
Jets fly by overhead
Making so many people dead

Battered and bloody young faces
Hide under helmets in these places
Youthful hands
Grip weapons in foreign lands
War is fought by those who are young
Yelling war songs their fathers' sung
Fear hiding behind bravery and strength
War breaks people at great length
Before they can legally drink, some are buried
Laid to rest with the pain that they carried

Displaced
Disgraced
The refugee's song carries on
Playing through the wind at dawn
Hard roads ahead but still they drag themselves through
Nothing else for them to do
Lost everything to war
Shaken them to the core

Blood on the horizon, now its plain to see
Blood in the sunset, it's what this world will be
