With the land behind me and the ocean up ahead
It's a pirate's life for me until I am dead
My worries and my cares have been left behind
Now I'm free to do what I choose and have a free mind

Lest we forget
we must remember
how a great fire was turned
into dying ember,

A Ballad Of The Sea

With the land behind me and the ocean up ahead
It's a pirate's life for me until I am dead
My worries and my cares have been left behind
Now I'm free to do what I choose and have a free mind
The wind's in the sails and the stars in the sky
It's just about time to kiss my old life goodbye
Stormy waves are huge, imposing, and are full with fury
But they're just hollow monuments to the sea's glory
Poseidon's chariot chases up and down
Making white foam as bright as a wedding gown
The seagulls will crow as the wind will howl
Still, in the end it's just saltwater in a bowl
I don't need no justifications, I don't need no excuse
I am ready and willing to take any abuse
Here, gold is not earned in honest ways
It's just plundered like stealing cake off a tray
If you listen closely you will hear the final cries of drowning men
Though, out here it's as common as the squawk of a hen
The rule of the fang and claw
Are just another sea law
Maybe I will hang, and maybe I will not
Nevertheless my battles will not in vain be fought
Once I have been confined like a sheep in a pen
Now I am master of my own sea den
I will not leave here, not for all the jewels in the world
Not until all the corners are explored and the secrets unfurled
