I'm a college student seeking a degree in creative writing. I also work part-time as a dietary aid in a nursing home. Writing and reading has been an important part of my life ever since I was a kid. I hope to turn that interest into becoming a published author and poet one day.)

Three Years

Three years have gone by
Since I graduated from high school
Although it has been three years
I feel like I have gone nowhere
Accomplished nothing
Only stood idly by
And watched the world continue
To spin round

I see my friends
Moving steadily forward in their lives
Accomplishing goals
Or making steps toward their goals
I want to join in
And accomplish my own dreams
But I don't know how
Perhaps I'm too afraid of failure

So I just watch in silence instead
And hope that someday
I do join in
